Community Rallies At Hair for Hope 2026 To Stand With Children Fighting Cancer

The Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) concluded its flagship Hair for Hope (HfH) 2026 main event yesterday 26 July 2026 at VivoCity Central Court. Held over two days on 25 and 26 July, hundreds of shavees, volunteers, beneficiaries, and supporters gathered to stand in solidarity with children and families impacted by childhood cancer under the theme “This Is Our Shared Journey”.

Heartfelt Ceremonial Shaves Lead the Way At Hair For Hope 2026

The main event opened with symbolic ceremonial shaves representing the different communities walking alongside young cancer patients:

• Mr Jeffrey Siow, Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance (Guest-of-Honour), shaved HfH2026 Ambassador Mr Wu Tze Sien, whose commitment to HfH became deeply personal after his son Wilson was diagnosed with cancer in 2013.
• Ms Susana Lim, CCF Secretary, shaved HfH2026 Ambassador Ms Judy Tan, who participated in her third year as a shavee in loving memory of her late granddaughter Antonela.
• Mr Eric Chua, CCF Patron and Senior Parliamentary Secretary (Ministry of Law and Ministry of Social and Family Development), shaved first-time shavee and HfH top individual fundraiser Mr Stanley Fu.
• In a deeply poignant moment, 17-year-old CCF Beneficiary Ambassador Iymran Firman took to the stage to shave the head of CCF Chairman Dr Kevin Tay.

Standing Strong Amid Personal Relapse

Iymran’s participation served as a highlight of resilience. Earlier this year, while preparing for his N-Levels after completing initial treatment, a routine scan prior to removing his treatment port revealed a new tumour. A biopsy confirmed a relapse, returning him to chemotherapy and stem cell therapy.

Rather than retreating, Iymran stepped forward as a beneficiary ambassador to encourage others facing similar battles.

“When I see everyone shaving their heads at HfH, I don’t feel different,” said Iymran. “I feel like I belong. It reminds me that I’m part of a community, and there’s nothing to be ashamed of.”

Immersive Experiences Bring The Journey To Life

To foster deeper empathy, members of the public explored the Public Education (PE) Booth, which brought the childhood cancer journey to life through immersive setups:

• Immersive Hospital Ward: Visitors experienced a virtual reality (VR) simulation co-created by the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) and Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), offering a firsthand look at radiation therapy. Healthcare professionals from KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) were also onsite to share how they support children through chemotherapy.
• Recreated Child’s Bedroom: Demonstrating life after cancer, this space illustrated how play therapy and music therapy help children regain confidence, process emotions, and transition back into school and daily life.

Hair for Hope 2026 – A Lasting Impact

Since 2003, Hair for Hope has rallied over 75,000 shavees and raised more than $54 million to support CCF’s programs from diagnosis through survivorship. Platinum Supporter Advisors Alliance Group (AAG), along with donors Mr Chua Ting, Howden Private Wealth, and Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, joined the public in supporting this year’s campaign.
