Health365 at SCS CAmpung Festival 2025 to raise cancer awareness

Health365 had the privilege of participating in the Singapore Cancer Society’s CAmpung Festival 2025 event. CAmpung Festival 2025, organised by the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS), took place on 22–23 February at Paya Lebar Quarter (PLQ) Outdoor Plaza. This two-day health carnival, held in conjunction with World Cancer Day, brought together people from all walks of life to raise awareness, promote healthier lifestyles, and foster a supportive community for those impacted by cancer.

A Festival With A Purpose

With this year’s World Cancer Day theme, “United by Unique,” the CAmpung Festival truly embodied the power of collective action. The event name itself reflects the kampung (village) spirit, symbolising unity and shared responsibility in the fight against cancer. Over 1,500 attendees joined in for a weekend filled with education, engagement, and empowerment.

Highlights Of The Festival

A Grand Opening With Inspirational Messages

The festival kicked off with an energetic performance by cancer survivor group Be Hype Be Happy, followed by an address from SCS CEO, Mr Tan Kwang Cheak. The Guest of Honour, Senior Minister of State Tan Kiat How, delivered an inspiring speech, emphasising the importance of community-driven cancer awareness efforts.

Thought-Provoking Panel Discussions

Attendees had the opportunity to hear from medical experts and cancer survivors in engaging panel discussions. Topics ranged from early detection and treatment advancements to lifestyle choices that can help reduce cancer risks. Fireside chats delved into common cancers such as colorectal, breast, prostate, lung, and gastrointestinal cancers, providing attendees with invaluable insights.

Interactive Booths And Community Engagement

The festival featured a variety of interactive booths showcasing cancer awareness, prevention, and rehabilitation services. Attendees explored exhibits from SCS and its healthcare partners, learning about available resources and support systems. Beyond that, the spirit of giving was alive as partners from diverse industries came together to support the cause. Partners donated a portion of their proceeds from festival sales to SCS, making every purchase a contribution towards cancer support.

Fitness, Fun, And Screenings

Encouraging an active lifestyle, the event featured fitness sessions such as KpopX Fitness, Pound Fitness, Steel Combat, and Piloxing, in collaboration with the Health Promotion Board. The Community Mammobus provided on-site mammogram screenings, making cancer detection more accessible to attendees.

Sharing Personal Journeys

One of the most inspiring aspects of the festival was the Human Library sessions at the CAmpung Café. Cancer survivors and caregivers shared their personal journeys, offering hope and encouragement to others. Renowned athlete and cancer awareness advocate James Wong held a meet-and-greet session and book signing, further motivating attendees to prioritise their health.

A Lasting Impact

The CAmpung Festival 2025 was more than just an event – it was a movement that strengthened community bonds and reinforced the importance of cancer prevention and support. Attendees left with valuable knowledge, newfound motivation, and a deeper appreciation for the role that each of us plays in this collective effort.
